Nylon belongs to aliphatic polyamide fiber, which is the main synthetic fiber next to polyester. Nylon has good performance, high output and wide applications. Nylon is resistant to corrosion, mildew and moth. Nylon filament is mainly nylon high-strength filament, and there is also a small amount of nylon staple fiber. Nylon high-strength filament is mainly used to produce strong filament for socks, underwear, sweatshirts, etc. Nylon high-strength filament can also be used in webbing: high-grade luggage belt, mountaineering belt, rope belt for sporting goods, safety belt, pet belt, high-grade medical abdominal belt, etc. Nylon staple fiber is mainly blended with viscose fiber, cotton, wool and other synthetic fibers, and is used as clothing fabric.
Nylon filament has the characteristics of high strength and low elongation, which has a great trend to replace Nylon Double 6. Its stability and physical indexes have reached the standard. Nylon fabric is a variety of fabrics made of nylon silk, such as nylon taffeta, nylon crepe, etc.
Because it is woven with nylon filament, it has the characteristics of smooth hand feel, firmness and durability, moderate price, and also has the shortcomings that the fabric is easy to wrinkle and difficult to recover. Nylon taffeta is mostly used for light clothes, down jackets or raincoats, while nylon crepe is suitable for summer dresses, spring and autumn sweaters, etc.
The difference between polyester and nylon lies in:
1. With different specific gravity, polyester silk fabric is not easy to wrinkle, and crisp, with good dimensional stability and shape retention. The shape retention of nylon fiber is not good, and it is crisp and easy to deform without polyester fiber.
2. The melting point of polyester filament is 260 ℃, and the ironing temperature can be 180 ℃. The heat resistance of nylon filament is not good enough, and the ironing temperature should be controlled below 140 ℃,
3. Nylon yarn has good low temperature resistance, good elastic recovery ability, excellent wear resistance, and better hygroscopicity and dyeability than polyester yarn.
4. Polyester yarn is resistant to sunlight, acid but not alkali, and nylon yarn is resistant to alkali but not acid. It has poor light resistance. After long-term exposure to sunlight, the fiber strength will decline and the color will turn yellow. The nylon silk fabric has a smooth feel and high surface gloss. It is made of sportswear, swimming clothes, bodybuilding clothes and socks.
